I finally tackled a longtime dream: designing a full deck of playing cards that merges classic card design with pulp genres.

Spades became sci-fi, hearts horror, diamonds fantasy, and clubs noir. Using the iconic Bicycle card style as a reference, each face card and symbol reflects its genre while remaining cohesive across the deck. The entire set was so visually strong that all the face cards were displayed as prints in the Atlantic Gallery’s Imagined Worlds show, blending collectible gaming culture with gallery-level art.
