The Atlantic Gallery

Developed identity systems for two group exhibitions at Atlantic Gallery, partnering with the curator to create distinct visual narratives while maintaining cohesion across shared promotional channels.

Deliverables

  • Exhibition identity systems (Vignettes, Imagined Worlds)

  • Posters, postcards, and social media assets

  • Exhibition catalogue (Imagined Worlds)

  • Environmental graphics and name badges

  • Original artwork featured in both exhibitions

The Challenge

Create two distinct exhibition identities that communicate curatorial narratives without competing with the artwork. Each system needed to support a range of styles while maintaining a cohesive, professional presence.

Approach

Collaborated with the curator to translate each exhibition concept into a clear visual system.

For Vignettes, developed a logo and graphic language using subtle framing devices to reference both individual works and comic panel structures, reinforcing themes of sequential storytelling.

For Imagined Worlds, built an identity drawing from mid-century modern design and world’s fair aesthetics, emphasizing exploration and the collective nature of the twelve featured artists.

Both systems were designed to scale across print and digital while remaining flexible enough to support diverse artwork without conflict.

The Result

Delivered two cohesive identity systems adopted across all gallery communications, enhancing presentation while keeping the artwork central. Received strong positive feedback from gallery leadership and participating artists.

Also contributed original artwork to both exhibitions, bringing perspective as both designer and exhibiting artist.
